Who is Lorenz?

…a student

I am currently studying Master of Media Computer Science (Medieninformatik) at the Technical University of Dresden. During my time at the university, a learned a lot of things around computers and how we humans can interact and work with them. Here are some of the projects developed:

…a developer and tutor

Since 2022, I am a student worker (SHK) at the IXLAB in TU Dresden. Our research is focused on the application of augmented reality in psychology, teaching and architecture. You can read more about us here.

Here are some of the projects where I was involved with:

…a creative mind solving problems

During my free time, I also created some projects on my own. These were for learning purposes, to solve a specific problem I had or just for fun.

…a believer in open source software

We as humans should work together instead of against each other. If we find a solution to a common problem, we should make that solution available to everyone.

All of my PCs use a Linux distribution and I am mainly relying on open source software. Upon finding an issue, I aim to contribute by opening a ticket or creating a pull request. I also maintain a Nextcloud instance for my family. Since about 2021, I reduced my social media usage primarily to Mastodon and Pixelfed.

Almost all of my code for personal projects is published on Github with an open source license for others to find. Additionally, I have a small blog to share solutions whenever a problem becomes (surprisingly) complicated.

…a traveler and photographer

I love being outside, hiking or doing bike tours. That's why I created a small blog to share my adventures.

If I find the time, I also post some photos in the fediverse.
